The Tears Tree is a sort of mythical creature. At the end od each twig sits a weeping eye. The tree sheds tears for everything that ‘was’ and will never come back. Additionally, it is a mythical creature, that animates to make up new stories, either to enrich the spit with an additional identity, or simply to refresh itself.
