Orchids

After spending time in the Swiss countryside, I got interested in the interaction of art and agriculture. To understand better how agricultural production nowadays works I visited an orchids grower in Monster. The technical sophistication of the production is impressive.

One of the key aspects of orchid cultivation is creating the right environmental conditions. Orchids are typically grown in controlled environments, such as greenhouses, to provide the ideal temperature, humidity, and light levels for their growth. Orchid growers also focus on aesthetic aspects of production, such as selecting and breeding orchid varieties for desirable traits like color, shape, and fragrance. This involves careful selection and hybridization of orchid plants to create new cultivars that are visually appealing and unique.
